Reinardt Janse van Rensburg

Reinardt Janse van Rensburg was one of only 3 South African riders to have raced on a World Tour team before Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka made the step up to the World Tour last year. Reinardt originally started his career with our African Team and had his most successful season with us in 2012 when he won 14 races that year.

Reinie then went on to form part of the formidable Giant-Shimano leadout that delivered Marcel Kittel & John Degenkolb to numerous victories over a period of 2 years. Returning to Africa’s Team in 2015, Reinie showed he is a powerful rider with a sharp turn of speed and he was pivotal for us in the sprints of the Tour de France when leading out Edvald Boasson Hagen in 2015 and Mark Cavendish in 2016. While he continued to be a vital member in the sprint leadouts in 2016 he also managed to add the GC of the prestigious Tour de Langkawi to his own palmarès. In 2017 he has got the season off to a flying start by being crowned the South African National Champion.
