Ben King- Rider
I had a really good intermediate spilt and it is the reason I am a little disappointed. I lost my contact at the start. It was folded over in my eye. I had to take the downhills slower. I panicked and over-paced on the hills. If I had gone 5 seconds slower in the first half, I could have gone 10, 20 seconds faster in the seconds over the whole course. Overall it was a good start, I was pretty nervous before the start. It’s really exciting to be here in Jerusalem, for the start of the Giro. I am glad to have it underway. I am a little disappointed to have made some mistakes on the course. I feel pretty good about the ride, with three weeks of racing ahead.
