The Amgen Tour of California concluded on Sunday with the final stage finishing in sunny Sacramento, in front of a packed crowd.
The stage was won by Fernando Gaviria (Quickstep-Floors) in a sprint finish, as he took this third stage win of the race.
While Egan Bernal (Team Sky) won the General Classification.
For our team it brought to an end a solid week that crucially saw a return to a block of racing for the likes of Mark Renshaw and Mark Cavendish who had both been out with long injury lay-offs.
Rolf Aldag – Head of Performance
While it wasn’t an event that saw us on a podium there were some positives in that some riders who clearly needed time racing, got that.
Tom-Jelte’s strong showing at Laguna Seca where he took 8th place was probably the best moment of our week.
We now all head home to regroup and focus on the riders respective race programmes with the likes of Dauphine, Tour de Suisse and then of course the Tour de France to come.
