Primoz Roglic (LottoNL-Jumbo) won the final individual time trial stage of the Tour of Slovenia and with it, the overall title too. Jan Tratnik (CCC Sprandi) was 2nd on the stage and Josef Cerny (Elkov – Author) placed 3rd.
The final stage time trial of the Tour of Slovenia was never going to be a day for Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka to set the race alight, with the only objective being for Amanuel Ghebrigzabhier to hang on to a decent overall GC position.
Jaco Venter would set our African Team’s fastest time of the day, +2’05” down on the time of stage winner, Roglic. Ghebreigzabhier might have lost a bit more time than he hoped, coming in +2’25” down, but it was still enough for our Eritrean neo-pro to finish 17th overall.
Mark Cavendish put in decent time trial effort too, crossing the line at +2’20” to Roglic. The Adriatica Ionica Race is next on the calendar for our Manxman, starting on Wednesday.
