Jaco Venter

Jaco returned to Africa’s Team in 2012 after spending two years on Belgian and Luxembourg teams. He previously rode for the team in 2010 when he finished on the podium of the national championships in the individual time trial. Jaco was part of our 2014 Vuelta a Espana team and then also our road captain during the 2015 edition of the race. Jaco came agonisingly close to winning stage 11, only to be caught meters before the line. In 2017, Jaco rode and completed his first ever Tour de France

He is also a former under 23 SA national time trial champion and has finished 4th overall in the Tour de l’Avenir. Because of his speed on the bike, he plays a key role in the team’s leadout train and team time trials, he was instrumental in the teams fine TTT performance at the 2014 Vuelta a Espana and will again form part of our team time trial plans and helping to deliver riders like Mark Cavendish and Ryan Gibbons to more victories in 2018.
