Julien Vermote

Julien Vermote is an impressively strong Belgian rider who became renowned for the amount of time he spent riding on the front of the Tour de France peloton in 2017. Vermote was instrumental in delivering Marcel Kittel to all 5 TdF stage wins last year.

Vermote is much more than just a diesel engine eating up kilometres on the front though. The Belgian has always been a super domestique during the cobble classics, riding in service of riders like Boonen and Gilbert. His overall GC win at the Driedaagse van West-Vlaanderen is proof that given the opportunity, Vermote can be a race winner during the classics. Our African Team looks forward to seeing this side of Vermote in 2018 before going on to support Mark Cavendish throught he rest of the season.
