The UCI 1.HC Brabantse Pijl will once again be the transitional race from the spring cobbled classics to the hillier Ardennes classics. The 196km semi-classic takes place on Wednesday over 196km.

Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka hopes to put a disappointing cobbled classics campaign in the past with a positive start to the Ardennes classic campaign, starting with Brabantse Pijl.

Our South African team will be relying on Roman Kreuziger and Enrico Gasparotto to change our fortunes on Wednesday, as the experienced duo head into the period of the season they are most suited for.

He said what
“Brabants comes a few days before Amstel Gold and for many it is the bridge between the cobblestones and Ardennes. In this race there will be a few tired guys from first part of the Belgium classics and then a few super fresh and motivated guys for the second part of the classics. I’m in that second group and obviously this is like a big test before the real Ardennes, even if it’s an important race in its own right. Personally, it’s a race that I like, I was in the mix a few times here with a best result of second place. This is the first step we need to take, as they say, you need to be in it to win so being at the start, half the job is done. Now it is just full gas and full concentration on our goals.” – Enrico Gasparotto
