The 20th edition of the Vattenfall Cyclassics started spectacularly with the riders departing from a ferry in the harbor of Kiel. From there the organizers sent the peloton south towards Hamburg. With 221 kilometers and the main difficulties in the latter part of the race the team kept it’s cards close to the chest. The Tour of Utah is in the books. It was a bittersweet ending for us, since Matt Brammeier crashed out badly the day prior to the big final. On the course around park city the team managed to put Songezo Jim in the break and with this, covered the move for a stunning seventh time in a row. In the end it was all on Natnael Berhane to lay it down on the road and he put on an amazing show that earned him the jersey for being the Most Aggressive rider of the race. Yesterday’s queen stage of the Tour of Utah finished in Park City and our Eritrean National champion Natnael Berhane managed to finish on the podium, coming home in 3rd place after another strong ride. Our very own Eritrean nationals champion Natnael Berhane lighted up the competition in the finale of stage 5 of the Tour of Utah. Supported by his team mates he tried to make the roads in downtown Salt Lake City his own. He was reeled in with just 2 kilometers to go. Nevertheless, the gutsy ride earned the team another podium – Songezo Jim, who was in the early break, was awarded the Most Combative rider of the day.Read More →
