This Friday we will lineup in Canada for the first of the two UCI World Tour one-day races, the Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec, with the Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal taking place on Sunday.
Both races are circuits around the cities of Québec and Montréal , spanning over 200 kms, with the peloton lapping the Québec course 16 times and the Montréal course consisting of 18 laps.
Michael Valgren, Enrico Gasparotto and Roman Kreuziger will headline our roster. Valgren claimed two top 10 spots in last year’s editions of the races, and in his most recent outing for the team, claimed 4th in the Bretagne Classic – Ouest-France.
For sprint options, we will have both Ryan Gibbons and Reinardt Janse van Rensburg in our battalion. Tom- Jelte Slagter, following on from a strong performance at the Deutschland Tour, will be able to make the moves on the sharp gradients. Our squad is completed by our neo-pro Gino Mäder.
“The Canadian races are two races that I really enjoy. They are well organized in a really beautiful country. We are coming here with a strong team, with riders who, in the past, were able to fight for win and like we could see in Plouay a few weeks ago, who also have good legs.
We are confident of our potential, so let’s see if we are able to put things together and head back to Europe happy with our performances and with some good results.”– Enrico Gasparotto
