Stefan de Bod will make his WorldTour debut as he’s earned selection for the upcoming Tour of Turkey, as part of our strong lineup for the race.

The exciting 22-year-old, who recently won the African time trial title, will be looking to the experience around him in providing guidance on his debut.

Joining him are compatriots Jaco Venter and Ryan Gibbons, who has recovered from the illness that kept him out of Scheldeprijs.

Mark Cavendish returns to ride at an event where he previously raced in 2014 and 2015 and he’s joined by Mark Renshaw who, after a disrupted start to the year due to injury, takes part in his first stage race of 2019.

Our lineup is completed with the selections of Ben O’Connor and Scott Davies who both will have their eye on stage five and the long uphill finish at Kartepe.

He said:

“Turkey will be a great race for us to be super competitive and have the chance take some race wins in the sprints, Along with that, personally I would love to change my luck, and aim once again for a really strong overall result.” – Ben O’Connor

He said:

“Stefan de Bod is a really good prospect and he finally makes his debut on the WorldTour, so he’s now finally able to see what it’s going to take to be successful at this level.

“To have Mark Cavendish and Mark Renshaw in the lineup, along with Ryan Gibbons who has been impressive when he’s raced this year, is a big positive for us and I’m looking forward to seeing how they all go.

“Renshaw’s ride at Scheldeprijs was only his second since fracturing his hip late last year and he will now have the opportunity to get some good racing under the belt as he starts looking ahead to the rest of the season.

“And for Ben’Connor, this form part of his final preparation for the Giro d’Italia so it be an important race for him.” – Rolf Aldag
