Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka will once again get another season of European racing underway at the Spanish UCI 2.1 event, Volta a la Communitat Valenciana.
Starting on Wednesday, the Volta a la Communitat Valenciana will consist of 5 stages, including an opening individual time trial, before a winner is crowned on Sunday in Valencia.
Our Riders to Watch
Roman Kreuziger – As one of our marquee signings for the 2019 season, the Czech superstar is accustomed to starting his season on the front foot, just as he did last year with a top 10 GC result at Valenciana.
Giacomo Nizzolo – While on paper it looks like there may only be 2 sprints at Volta a la Valenciana, our Italian sprinter will be looking to get the season off to a fast start in our African Team colours, this after successful knee surgery in December.
“Valenciana will be my season debut, and I am glad to kick it off here. After undergoing knee surgery in December my shape won’t be at the top of course, but I never take in a race without ambitions. I will do my best to take any chance, while improving my race feelings day by day” – Giacomo Nizzolo
Stage 1 – While the Volta a la Valenciana won’t be won during the 10.2km ITT, a strong ride against the clock will certainly go a long way to ensure a high placing on the overall leaderboard come Valencia.
Stage 4 – With a category 1 summit finish, this stage from Vila-Real to Alcala-Alcocebre will most certainly decide who rides away with the overall race honours.
